KINILENS | A total of 23 people participated in the “Day as a VIP (Visually Impaired Person)” programme organised by Suhakam on Friday (Feb 23).
This programme involved walking blindfolded with the help of a cane around pedestrian areas and public transportation stations such as Medan Tuanku Monorail Station, Titiwangsa MRT Station, and Kuala Lumpur Hospital MRT Station.
The programme aims to understand the challenges and obstacles faced by Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in accessing their rights as provided for in the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008 (Act 685), as well as to support the spirit of the Suhakam Act (Amendment) 2023 in encompassing the needs of PWDs.
