KINILENS | Residents of Kampung Budiman, Shah Alam and Jalan Paip Meru, Klang in Selangor were hit with flash floods on Thursday following a downpour which started at noon.

The disaster management agency had warned on Tuesday of the flash flood risks due to heavy rain and thunderstorms in seven states for a 24-hour period.

Even before the 15th general election was called, many feared the impact floods would have on the campaign and people’s safety with the arrival of the monsoon season, especially if floods hit during polling day on Nov 19.
