KINILENS | Businesses along the famous Deepavali shopping destination in Jalan Tengku Kelana, Klang are geared to receive about 20,000 shoppers over the weekend leading to the Hindu festival of lights on Oct 24.
Recently transferred South Klang district police chief Cha Hoong Fong led the way on his maiden pre-Deepavali annual police walkabout at Jalan Tengku Kelana in Klang, and was accompanied by an entourage of high-ranking police officers from the station.
He met and spoke to business operators along the road closed off to traffic for four days from Oct 20, while Amanita police officers, otherwise known as “peace ladies” from the police force handed out flyers and spoke to women shoppers about the importance of reporting domestic violence.
