KINILENS | The Wesak float procession which was postponed for three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic has returned in full swing, attracting thousands of visitors.
The procession yesterday kicked off from the Buddhist Maha Vihara temple in Brickfields to follow a 12km route through the city centre before heading back to the temple.
Apart from local devotees, Burmese and Bangladeshi Buddhists from their respective associations also enlivened the atmosphere of the religious parade with their own culture.
Buddhists observe Wesak Day to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of Siddharta Gautama Buddha.
