Residents in Selangor are resorting to tankers for water supply after taps ran dry due to river pollution.
This is after the water supply was cut to 1,292 areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur due to river pollution.
The Sungai Selangor Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Rantau Panjang water treatment plants had to be closed down on Sept 3 after detecting pollutants in the water.
Authorities have shut down a factory in Rawang which they suspect is responsible for the pollution.
The water treatment plants have started operating have full restoration of water supply will only happen by Sept 9.
