Today, Malaysians wake up to the 63rd Independence Day today under a cloud of fear and uncertainty amidst the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Yet, despite the Merdeka Day parade being cancelled, the national spirit was not to be diminished as many citizens visited national landmarks such as the Tugu Negara and Dataran Merdeka for their own celebrations.
It was an uplifting sight as pockets around the capital city came to life with people young and old, friends and families.
Many were even dressed in the national red, white, blue and yellow and with the Jalur Gemilang flying high.
