A registered non-profit humanitarian NGO based in Ampang has been working in partnership with the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide sewing skills training and livelihood projects for displaced people in Malaysia.
The refugee sewing centre is now showing their support for frontliners combating Covid-19 by stitching up personal protective equipment (PPE) suits.
Taking thread to needle, some 10 trained Afghan refugees are producing 150-200 pairs of PPE suits daily for government hospitals and clinics in Kuala Lumpur.
