Teachers participate in a Chinese New Year Couplets writing competition at Tsun Jin High School in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 19, 2018.
Chinese New Year couplets, also known as Chunlian, are written in black ink on red paper. They are affixed on both sides of the door as decoration and usually expresses best wishes for the coming year.
The couplets are normally a pair of successive lines of verse, especially a pair that rhyme, and the number of characters in each line is the same.
