Lawyers for Liberty wants Arifin Zakaria to come clean on his previous tenure as chief justice.

Abu Talib says Arifin owes a duty to the public to explain the basis of him advising the Agong to appoint them.

Arifin Zakaria also confirms that he made the recommendation to appoint Raus and Zulkefli to the king on March 30.

The term of the four, who include former CJ Arifin Zakaria, will run until April 2019. 

CJ Arifin Zakaria says this is because such statements are taken seriously by the people.

He gave it top priority when he became the 13th chief justice in 2011 and still remains his priority.

'We decide our cases independently,' insists Chief Justice Arifin Zakaria.
