Najib knot squeezes Anwar
Anwar Ibrahim seems caught in a tightening knot—one called Najib Abdul Razak.
The pressure is building on the reformist leader who once rode the 1MDB scandal to power.
From the house arrest royal addendum to 1MDB dropping its lawsuit against the former premier’s stepson, the current prime minister is feeling the squeeze - and the grip is only getting tighter.
Turning up the heat, a group has warned that Anwar will be held accountable if Najib secures a discharge amounting to acquittal (DAA) in a case related to the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) case.
They are demanding that Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar provide a clear timeline for Najib’s recharging.
Additionally, they are urging Anwar to declassify documents sought by Najib’s defense team.

Sanusi’s second Selangor ‘Oops’
Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Md Nor seems to have a habit of stirring up controversy when it comes to Selangor.
Last September, the PAS leader narrowly escaped a “seditious” predicament after apologising to Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Now, history repeats itself—on Wednesday, Sanusi issued another apology, this time to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, settling a defamation suit.
The case stemmed from a 2023 lawsuit in which Amirudin accused Sanusi of falsely implicating him in a scandal involving tycoon Vincent Tan and the Sungai Klang cleaning project.
