Zahid completely off the hook
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi no longer has any corruption cases hanging over his head.
This is after prosecutors decided to drop their appeal against Zahid's acquittal in the Foreign Visa System (VLN) corruption case.
They said there was no evidence in the case to show Zahid had ever used his position to award the related contracts, which were doled out before he became a home minister.
In Sept 2022, the High Court acquitted Zahid in the case after finding that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against him.
Last year, prosecutors also dropped all 47 corruption charges against the Umno president in the Yayasan Akalbudi case.

Another rift in PN
The reappointment of Bersatu leaders to six key posts in Perikatan Nasional without making any concessions to PAS appears to have ruffled some feathers.
PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar on Wednesday quit as PN treasurer-general.
Samsuri is staying tight-lipped on his reasons for now, but did post a cryptic message quoting basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar about "doing the right thing" no matter how small to make a difference between "winning and losing".
PAS had previously lobbied for the PN secretary-general post, which has instead gone to Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali.
HIGHLIGHTS
Musa Aman redux?
Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman is reportedly the front-runner to become the next Sabah governor.
Also in contention for the post is Kadazan-Dusun paramount leader Joseph Pairin Kitingan.
Musa was Sabah chief minister from 2003 to 2018 when post-election defections put Shafie Apdal in power instead.
He tried to stage a counter-coup in 2020 but this led to snap state elections - in which Musa was side-lined by BN as a candidate.
