Schrodinger's Najib
The Pardons Board has decided on Najib Abdul Razak's pardon application.
However, the decision is still unknown as of when this newsletter was written (12am Wednesday).
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the board - which she is a member of - would issue an official statement, but did not say when.
There has been speculation that Najib was either pardoned or had his jail time reduced.
However, until the statement is released, Najib's fate will remain a mystery.

A new Agong
Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar will ascend as the new Yang di-Pertuan Agong today for a five-year term.
The ruler has signalled that he will be more hands-on as king.
This includes proposing that the MACC and Petronas report to the palace instead of Parliament.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, however, assured that Sultan Ibrahim's views would not influence the principle of constitutional monarchy in the country.

Former finance minister Daim Zainuddin claimed trial for failing to abide by a MACC’s notice to disclose his assets.
It is the same charge leveled against his wife, Na'imah Abdul Khalid.
The assets the MACC alleged that were not disclosed were 38 firms, 25 pieces of land and property, seven luxury vehicles and two investment fund accounts.
