PM claims threatened over Gaza
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim claimed that he had been pressured and even threatened for supporting Gaza and Palestine.
Anwar, however, told a rally in support of Palestine on Tuesday night that he would not bend to such pressure and asserted Malaysia’s sovereignty to support whom it wishes to.
Earlier, Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal claimed that Wisma Putra insiders had informed PN that the Anwar administration was wavering in its stance against Israel over its assault on Gaza.
This included the possibility that Malaysia would not push the UN to haul Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the International Court of Justice.

Tambun farmers vs Land Office
A battle over farming rights in Tambun, Perak turned physical after farmers and activists from PSM tried to stop the Perak Land and Mining Office from carrying out an eviction order.
One PSM activist was left with a bloodied face in the commotion.
Three other PSM leaders, including party chairperson Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj, as well as a farmer were arrested for trying to stop the eviction order from being carried out.
They were later released on police bail.
Farmers claim to have been working the land in Kanthan, Tambun for six decades - with the area deemed to be the single largest vegetable-producing region in the state.
However, they have been unable to obtain land grants and the state government views them as “illegal farmers” and is pushing to evict them.

Harnessing Lynas’ waste
The government has lifted conditions that banned Lynas Malaysia from importing lanthanide and operating a cracking and leaching facility locally.
This is after Lynas approached the government with a plan that would lead to waste being generated by its rare earth plant having negligible amounts of radiation.
The plan involves extracting thorium from the waste, which can then be sold as nuclear fuel to other countries.
The thorium extraction and processing will involve a local research and development plan.
