Coup pooh-poohed
Rumours of a planned coup that involves 12 BN MPs vacating their seats to make way for by-elections have been rubbished by Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
MCA president Wee Ka Siong has also denied that he would back such a plot.
The math behind the rumour also don't fully check-out.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim currently has the support of 148 MPs while PN has the remaining 74 MPs.
In order to topple Anwar, PN will have to secure the support of every MP from Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, Warisan, Parti Bangsa Malaysia, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat, Muda, an independent, and at least three more MPs who are currently with BN.
HIGHLIGHTS
Election traction
The six state elections will be coming soon, with the state involved reportedly agreeing to dissolve their legislative assemblies in late June.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has denied that his raya open house tour is related to the six state polls.
However, the states where the open houses are taking place - Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang - are the same states where elections will be taking place.

Bail brouhaha
Six people were forced to stay behind bars over the long weekend after they were unable to post bail.
A lawyer representing the six, claimed this was because the court counter was allegedly closed over an hour before closing time on Thursday.
This caused an uproar, and de facto Law Minister Azalina Othman Said also ordered a probe into the matter.
The Federal Court's chief registrar's office later denied the bail office was closed early, and instead alleged that no one had turned up to pay bail for the six.
The six were released on Monday after arrangements were made for bail to be paid on the replacement public holiday.
