KL Tower sold
Telekom Malaysia has sold ownership of the Kuala Lumpur Tower to a little-known company called Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd.
The deal was reportedly made on Oct 31, while the nation was raptured in election fever.
Former communications minister Annuar Musa said that as a public-listed firm, TM did not need his permission to transfer shares - but questioned why a profit-maker was let go of.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, meanwhile, is keeping a close eye on the matter and has promised to cooperate with authorities if there is any investigation.
HIGHLIGHTS
Minimum wage breather
Micro businesses with less than five employees on their business have received another extension on implementing the RM1,500 minimum wage.
It was previously extended from May 1 this year, to Jan 1 next year, and now to July 1.
However, the second extension has irked labour groups - who urged the government to subsidise micro businesses so that they can pay workers the new minimum wage instead.
HIGHLIGHTS
Zuraida gets the boot
PBM has sacked Zuraida Kamaruddin and 10 others amid a power struggle with founding president Larry Sng.
Two of Zuraida's allies - Haniza Talha and Daroyah Alwi - have only been stripped of their posts as deputy president and women's chief respectively.
Sng said this was to prevent the duo - who are Selangor assemblypersons - from party hopping.
While partyless, Zuraida won't be completely in the wilderness, however, as she is a member of the Muafakat Nasional NGO, headed by former Ketereh MP Annuar Musa.
