Ex-AG Apandi shredded
In her scathing 100-page judgment, High Court Judge Azimah Omar tore apart former attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali.
She said Apandi appeared disinterested and contradicted himself when testifying in the defamation suit against DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.
According to her, Apandi also contradicted himself when Lim’s legal counsel quizzed the former AG on his 2016 press conference in which he accepted the RM2.6 billion donation narrative and absolved ex-premier Najib Abdul Razak.
During questioning by Lim’s legal counsel when asked about his 2016 press conference where Apandi had accepted the donation narrative and absolved Najib.
The former AG had filed the suit over a 2019 article which appeared in his blog and Malaysiakini.
On May 23, the High Court dismissed the civil suit, ruling that Lim was justified in his statement urging Apandi to answer why he had absolved Najib of the 1MDB affair in 2016.

Harapan must stop shooting itself in the foot
Khalid Abdul Samad has urged Pakatan Harapan leaders to put an end to their public spats.
Instead of training their guns on each other, the Shah Alam MP urged them to target their political rivals instead.
Differences and misunderstandings, he said, should be raised in the Harapan presidential council instead of giving the impression that the coalition is fractured.
"We have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and show the public our ability to win at the coming general election," he stressed.
Khalid said the focus should be on strategies for how the coalition could win the next general election.
