Chief justice draws the line
Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat spoke out against recent attacks against the judiciary, which she says has gone overboard.
She said while judges are subject to public criticism - especially in high-profile cases - it does not mean the public or politicians can make unsubstantiated accusations.
Tengku Maimun was not reported to have specific examples of overboard attacks.
However, Court of Appeal judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali has been hit by accusations that he had unexplained wealth, with the MACC launching a probe.
There is also the PAS leaks document, which purportedly claims that the judiciary has agreed to fast track Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's corruption trial.
Johor Bahru High Court judge Abu Bakar Katar's conviction of Sam Ke Ting in the ‘basikal lajak’ case had also triggered a backlash, with some netizens accusing the judge of being racist.

Suhakam commissioners swan song
Five Suhakam commissioners have ended their second and final term at the Human Rights Commission.
They are Mah Weng Kwai, Jerald Joseph, Nik Salida Suhaila Nik Saleh, Lok Yim Pheng and Godfrey Gregory Joitol.
Jerald told Malaysiakini that his time at Suhakam will be remembered for all the pain experienced by marginalised peoples, whom Suhakam documented.
Though often criticised for being a toothless tiger - a criticism the commission acknowledges due to its lack of enforcement powers - Suhakam does play a role in speaking out against and investigating human rights abuses and violations of the Federal Constitution.
The five commissioners’ final hours in the office on Tuesday were marked by two such statements.
Putrajaya has not named replacements for the new cadre of commissioners.

New rules for masks, clubbing
The Health Ministry has announced a new round of rule relaxations, that will kick in on May 1.
Among them is that wearing a mask outdoors is recommended, but no longer mandatory.
Night clubs will also be allowed to operate again, as the National Security Council's banned activities list is phased out.
However, if you want to go clubbing, or spend any time in an indoor public area such as shopping malls - you still have to wear a mask.
Check-ins via MySejahtera will also no longer be required, but premise owners can request to check whether you're allowed to be outside. This is because who are Covid-19 positive, or under Home Surveillance Order, are still required to undergo home quarantine.
