Najib, Umno get RM114 million back
RM114 million has been returned to Umno and its former president Najib Abdul Razak after prosecutors failed to forfeit the amount in a 1MDB-linked forfeiture suit.
It is understood that the money was released to Umno and Najib on June 17.
The court dismissed the forfeiture suit in May, ruling that prosecutors had failed to prove the RM114 million had been laundered from 1MDB.
The trial saw the startling allegation that Umno had a "secret" unaudited account to receive political donations - which prosecutors said violated the Societies Act.
The revelation caused a stir, with Umno accusing Bersatu of trying to ban the party.

Zahid moves against Ismail
After opening fire on Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is now setting his sights on an internal foe.
Zahid said Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob will face the consequences for standing by Muhyiddin.
The Umno president had previously approved of Ismail accepting the deputy prime minister position, on the same day that he decided to withdraw support from Muhyiddin.
Zahid also warned others that there would be repercussions in the next general election should they become "frogs".

Ain being investigated
Form 5 student Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam is now the subject of police investigations after the teacher she accused of making rape jokes in class lodged a report against her.
The teacher himself will not face police action after deputy public prosecutors decided there would be no further action on the case against him.
A source privy to the case told Malaysiakini that while witnesses confirmed the teacher had remarked on raping 18-year-olds - albeit with a caveat that this was a crime - there wasn't enough of a criminal element to press charges.
The teacher is threatening to sue Ain and her family if they don't pay him RM1 million in damages for alleged defamation.
