Meta Platforms Inc (Meta) is expected to receive its licence to operate in Malaysia soon, following three other internet messaging and social media service providers - Tencent (WeChat), ByteDance (TikTok), and Telegram.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said as of 5pm yesterday, WeChat, TikTok, and Telegram had been granted licences, while Meta was submitting documents to address issues raised by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
