Japan’s new ambassador-designate to Malaysia, Shikata Noriyuki, has pledged to continue enhancing Japan-Malaysia ties, building on the legacy of his predecessor to advance the long-standing strategic ties between the two nations.

He emphasised that as people-to-people exchanges are a crucial cornerstone of bilateral relations, he is committed to continuing the endeavours to expand cultural, tourism, student, and educational exchanges.
