Israel's Netanyahu rejects Egyptian ceasefire initiative in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected an initiative proposed by Egypt yesterday for a short-term ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Anadolu Agency reported.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced the proposal, according to Israeli media.

“We proposed a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for two days to exchange four (Israeli) hostages for some (Palestinian) prisoners, and then negotiations would take place over 10 days to turn the ceasefire into a permanent truce...
