Police last night arrested a man for allegedly hitting his toddler and placing the boy amid burning rubbish. 

In a video of the abuse, which was sent to his estranged wife, the two-year-old was seen wailing while standing inside what looked like a ring of flames. He was about 30cm away from the fire.
