YOURSAY | PAS MP makes matters worse for Hadi

YOURSAY | ‘Halimah not helping in healing the hurt in non-Malays’ hearts.’

'He didn't mean it,' PAS MP says sorry if Hadi's remark caused hurt

Mazilamani: Kapar MP Dr Halimah Ali has made matters even worse when she said PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang merely stated a ‘fact’. In other words, she was saying that what her leader said was true.

This also means that she and Hadi accept that the non-Malays, particularly the Chinese, are a threat since they have command over the economy.

She also now insinuated that the Chinese community has control over politics and can influence Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

I believe foreign companies have much superior control of the economy. If the investors are driven out of the country by her intolerance for race, colour, and religion, the nation's economy will definitely take a nosedive. Only then she will know that it is not the Chinese who are in control.

I am totally surprised by Halimah’s admission since she hails from Sarawak, where its people are noted to be above racism. There are plenty of cross-marriages between people of different ethnicities and religions.

I see that in my friends who are from Sarawak or Sabah. She has wondered into championing racism and strongly upholding the ideology or ideals of PAS. She has, by her comments, not helped in healing the hurt in the hearts of the non-Malays.

Undecided: Halimah, who is also a PAS central committee member said she believes Hadi did not intend to annoy and was just stating facts.

Non-Muslims will continue to reject PAS because leaders like her don't make sense. She has just confirmed that Hadi's statement is a fact. How does that help Hadi’s case?

With such low thinking abilities, who would want such leaders to represent them to further their interests?

Knucklehead: I heard the interview on BFM yesterday. As a doctor, I must say she has bad communication skills, especially being an Australian-educated doctor.

Halimah is so disconnected from Hadi, but she keeps claiming ‘I am in touch with the upper leaders’. She doesn’t seem to know what Hadi keeps ranting about.

Listen to the last listener who made that million-dollar remark towards the end of the interview: “Why does PAS have a provocative approach in preaching Islam versus how the prophet and the rest of the Muslims in the world practice? Why?”

Halimah's excuses were aplenty. Twisting and turning like a typical PAS leader caught with his pants down. Easy to ramble away but when questioned, give such snake-oil salesperson answers.

Her answers were so evasive, she never really answered the core question but keep interjecting how good PAS is. The bottom line is to win PAS voters, interject religion all through your ceramah and you have their vote.

Nothing to offer economically but they keep saying ‘We have our experts’. Seriously, who are these 'experts'? We’ve never heard of them.

She made a big deal of the caretaker Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar’s former career as an aeronautical engineer. So what? What about economic knowledge? She was just making a mountain out of a molehill, talking about how great and educated he is.

Kilimanjaro: Hadi is a Malay supremacist, and Halimah is defending the indefensible.

Hadi had ‘threatened’ the non-Malays in ways that he can pose a real danger to them if he doesn't get what he wants.

Halimah should be worried. The impact of Hadi's and caretaker Kedah menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s attitudes toward the non-Malays can harm her winning chances.

If Pakatan Harapan and BN voters do get together, then that may spell defeat for those within the state constituencies.

Politicians need to watch their mouths as what they say may affect their colleagues’ chances elsewhere.

Vijay47: Until recently, the usual defence was that ‘There was some miscommunication’ or the more common old stand-by, ‘It was all a misunderstanding’.

Now we see a priceless embellishment in the form of ‘Hadi was just being factual, he had no intention to hurt non-Muslims when he uttered offensive or seditious statements about them’.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to announce that the ‘Gold Medal and Cordon Bleu for Creative Innovation” goes to Halimah for her remark. Even if he (Hadi) himself did not say so and apologise.

Oct: Halimah can say what she likes. She can even apologise on Hadi's behalf. However, that doesn't make him innocent. If Hadi made such seditious remarks once and first time, it is understandable, but Hadi has been unfriendly with non-Muslims all the time.

Hadi has 'punched' and 'slapped' non-Malays too many times. The police dare not touched him. He believes he is untouchable and answers to Allah only. No matter how Halimah is trying to whitewash Hadi, his dirty insults will still leave a bad smell and stain.

Non-Muslims know he never admits his faults and repents. Halimah is unable to stop PAS' way of life if PAS decides to implement any law, especially since Halimah is a female and without any authority in PAS’ decision-making.
