Outgoing MMEA chief disappointed with patrol vessels delay

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director-general Admiral Mohd Zubil Mat Som, who will be going on mandatory retirement on March 19, today expressed his disappointment with the delay in the handing over of the offshore patrol vessel (OPV).

Met by reporters at a ceremony held in conjunction with his retirement at Dataran Pahlawan Negara today, Zubil hopes that the first OPV (OPV1) can be handed over by this year at least so that it can be used for security operations in national waters.
