COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,138 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,016,023.
Active cases currently stood at 16,521, down 28.5 percent compared to 14 days ago.

Another eight deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 6.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,795 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The state with the highest death was Penang (2), followed by Johor, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur with one each.
There are 1,052 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 56 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (95), followed by Sabah (66) and Johor (30).
