Covid-19 (Nov 15): 2,852 new cases, 12 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,852 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 27,914, down 15.5 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (936)
Kuala Lumpur (316)
Sabah (212)
Malacca (190)
Kedah (183)
Kelantan (174)
Putrajaya (169)
Sarawak (142)
Perak (104)
Penang (92)
Pahang (82)
Negeri Sembilan (81)
Johor (78)
Terengganu (77)
Labuan (13)
Perlis (3)

Another 12 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday.

Over the past week, an average of 7.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 5.0, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,566 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 91 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. At this rate, Malaysia was on track to see more Covid-19 deaths this month than the previous month.

For comparison, there were 101 deaths last month and 158 deaths in September.

There are 1,848 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 97 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (146) followed by Sabah (123) and Johor (57).
