Subahan Kamal has been appointed chairperson of the Social Security Organisation (Socso) effective Oct 4, said Human Resources Minister M Saravanan.

He said the 57-year-old replaces Mohamed Haniffa, who held the post for over two years and three months before being appointed senator on Sept 26.
