COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,186 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

This was the lowest daily case count since June 7.

Active cases currently stood at 24,021, down 6.5 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another seven deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Johor (1), Kedah (1), Pahang (1), Perak (1), Sabah (1), Selangor (1) and Terengganu (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,357 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 141 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 247 deaths last month and 204 deaths in July.

There are 1,094 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 52 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (91), followed by Selangor (64) and Kedah (32).
