Covid-19 (Sept 4): 1,904 new cases, 2 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,904 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 28,961, down 23.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (671)
Kuala Lumpur (328)
Sabah (167)
Perak (165)
Negeri Sembilan (87)
Malacca (84)
Penang (77)
Johor (70)
Sarawak (68)
Kedah (50)
Pahang (44)
Kelantan (42)
Terengganu (21)
Putrajaya (18)
Perlis (10)
Labuan (2)

Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported in Johor yesterday.

Over the past week, an average of 6.7 people were reported to have died of the disease, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.9, indicating that such deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,245 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus.

There are 1,286 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 73 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (92) followed by Sabah (74) and Johor (45).
