COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,083 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 42,717, down 8.9 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another 12 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as "brought in dead".

Deaths were reported in Malacca (3), Perak (3), Selangor (2), Negeri Sembilan (1), Pahang (1), Sarawak (1) and Terengganu (1).

Over the past week, an average of 8.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.8, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,044 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 75 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 204 deaths last month and 89 deaths in June.

There are 1,578 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 62 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (104) followed by Sabah (87) and Johor (86).
