COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,921 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 26,155, up 21.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were recorded yesterday, in Johor and Selangor respectively.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,737 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus.

So far this month 61 Covid-19 deaths have been reported. For comparison, there were 129 deaths last month and 564 in April.

Some 1,052 patients are hospitalised due to the disease of which 29 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (137) followed by Johor (107) and Sabah (60).
