Former deputy education minister Teo Nie Ching is urging the Education Ministry and the Education Services Commission (ESC) to think outside of the box and work together to address a teacher shortage.

This comes after a one-off teacher recruitment initiative had a glitch in its system which resulted in the applications of hundreds of qualified candidates being rejected.
