DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said he will initiate a defamation suit against MCA vice-president Tan Teik Cheng and The Star.

This was over a letter that appeared in The Star on March 7 penned by Tan which claimed that Lim, as finance minister, had demanded that SJKC Kuek Ho Yao change its name in exchange for RM4 million in government funds.
