Umno's Sungai Udang candidate Mohamad Ali Mohamad who suffered a surprise defeat to Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Malacca polls has vowed to purge internal saboteurs from the party.

Ali, who is also the Malacca Umno deputy chief and Dewan Negara deputy president, said while BN had succeeded in securing the Malacca state government, he had received unpleasant reports about the actions of certain Umno members.
