COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 5,713 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,492,343.
The fresh infections today comprised 5,404 Malaysians (94.6 percent) and 309 non-citizens (5.4 percent).
They were surpassed by a total of 5,865 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.
- Patients in ICU: 555
- Intubated: 280
As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients (including suspected ones) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 1.6 percent lower compared to a week ago.
Those who require intubation have also declined by 6.4 percent from a week ago.
Nationally, the number of hospital admissions in the last seven days has declined by 6.2 percent compared to the preceding week.
However, hospital admissions in some states are on the rise, particularly in Terengganu (+32.2 percent), Negeri Sembilan (+18.3 percent) and Pahang (+10.9 percent) during the same period.
Beginning Oct 9, the Health Ministry will only publish today's breakdown of new cases by states after midnight on its CovidNow portal.
The breakdown by states for yesterday (Nov 3), where 5,291 new cases were reported, is as follows:

Meanwhile in the latest round of genome sequencing from Oct 29 to today, found 100 percent of 1,047 samples tested to be Delta variants.
University Malaysia Sarawak sequenced the largest number of Covid-19 samples, identifying all 790 of them as the Delta variant.
Clusters
To date, 367 Covid-19 clusters are still active, including 5 new clusters reported today.
The ongoing clusters have fallen by 22.6 percent from the 474 active clusters a week ago.
The 5 new clusters today comprised four workplace clusters and one community cluster.
