COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 4,782 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,436,498.
The new case count today is the lowest in 125 days, since June 22.
Nationally, the number of hospital admissions in the last seven days have declined by 10.6 percent compared to the preceding week.
However, hospital admissions in some states are on the rise, particularly in Penang (+34 percent), Terengganu (+29.6 percent) and Kedah (+11.9 percent), according to the CovidNow website.
Beginning Oct 9, the Health Ministry will only publish today's breakdown of new cases by states after midnight on CovidNow.
The breakdown by states for yesterday (Oct 24), where 5,666 new cases were reported, is as follow:

There are currently 607 Covid-19 patients in intensive care of which 300 require ventilator support.
As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients, including suspected ones, in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 10.6 percent lower compared to a week ago.
Those who require intubation have also declined by 13.5 percent from a week ago.
The Health Ministry reported that it is monitoring 528 active Covid-19 clusters, down 19.5 percent from the 656 active clusters a week ago.
