The proposed sea reclamation in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, has been rejected by the Department of Environment (DOE).

DOE director-general Wan Abdul Latiff Wan Jaffar said an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the proposed reclamation and capital dredging for the Sunrise City mixed development was submitted on Aug 30, 2019.
