The Health Ministry today reported 16,073 new Covid-19 cases with Sarawak having more cases than the entire Klang Valley and neighbouring Negeri Sembilan combined.

New cases in the Klang Valley, which has a vaccination rate above the national level, continues to see a downtrend in new cases and today report numbers at mid-June levels.

A total of 1,444 out of 5,153 clusters are still active. They include the 32 new clusters reported today.

Fourteen of these are classified as workplace clusters, and another 14 are community clusters.

There is also a new cluster involving high-risk groups, and a cluster involving an institution of higher learning.

Overall, clusters account for 1,206 (7.5 percent) of today's cases.
