COVID-19 | The Health Ministry has reported 20,596 new cases as of noon today, setting yet another record high.

There were also 164 deaths today, pushing the death toll past the 10,000 mark.

Penang has reported four-digit cases for the first time, while Selangor has also hit a new record. There are six states and territories that report more than 1,000 cases today.

Deaths

There were 164 fatalities today, bringing the death toll to 10,019. This includes 37 cases that have no history of chronic illness.

Deaths have been reported in Selangor (45), Johor (27), Kuala Lumpur (24), Kedah (18), Perak (10), Sabah (9), Penang (9), Malacca (9), Negeri Sembilan (7), Sarawak (2), Pahang (2), Kelantan (1), and Terengganu (1).

Twenty-two of the deceased had died before reaching a hospital.
