COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,178 new Covid-19 cases, a return to normal levels after a steep rise yesterday.
Sarawak and Selangor recorded the highest number of new cases at 238 and 237 respectively.
Other areas that recorded three-digit cases include Penang, Johor and Kuala Lumpur.
The new cases put the cumulative infection figure to date at 346,678.
Malaysians made up the bulk of new cases (74.4 percent).

States
Close contacts of Covid-19 patients formed the majority (68 percent) of new cases in Sarawak, which has been reporting new cases in the low three digits since mid-February.
Kuala Lumpur notably had 101 new cases, after nine days of reporting numbers in the double digits.
Deaths
There were six new Covid-19 deaths reported today, bringing the national death toll to 1,278.
These deaths were reported in Sarawak (2), Johor (1), Kelantan (1) and Sabah (1).
The victims were age between 54 and 81. Two victims were brought to the hospital dead.

Clusters
The Health Ministry today reported that 362 clusters were still active of which 55 saw new cases.
The cluster with the most new cases is the Jelawat cluster involving which involved a factory in Penang, but the cluster has spread to Kedah and Perak.
There were six new clusters classified by the Health Ministry today.
Notably, the Jalan Sungai Ramal cluster involved two schools in Kajang, Selangor.
