Covid-19 (March 25): 1,360 new cases, S'gor reports fewer fresh infections

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,360 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths.

The new infections comprised 79.85 percent Malaysians and 20.15 percent non-citizens.

On the flip side, new recoveries of 1,491 outpaced fresh cases, helping to reduce the number of active cases and the strain on Covid-19 hospitals.

  • Active cases: 14,504
  • Patients in ICUs: 157
  • Intubated: 72

New cases by states

The Klang Valley accounted for 33.97 percent (462 cases) of new infections while East Malaysia made up 28.01 percent (381 cases) of the fresh infections.

Selangor still had the most number of infections, but continued a downtrend, reporting 134 fewer new cases than yesterday.

Meanwhile, there was a spike of cases in Sarawak, which had 167 more infections than yesterday.

Deaths

There were two fatalities today, bringing the death toll to 1,248.

Both deaths were recorded in Sarawak.

Those who died were aged 72 and 89.

Clusters

A total of 394 out of 1,322 clusters are still active.

This includes the eight clusters reported today. Another nine were declared resolved.

The resolved clusters are: Tapak Bina Lorong Peel, Industri Jalan Empat, Taman Integrasi, Jalan Tiga KKIP, Jalan Sepuluh, Jalan Tiga Belas, Guntong Dalam, Jalan Perindustrian Murni and Tapak Bina Indera Mahkota.
