UPDATED 9.20PM | List of locations affected by Covid-19 (Feb 3)

  • Latest places added: Ladang Tangkasaron, Beluran, Sabah; Pengkalan Chepa Prison, Kelantan; MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Bentong, Pahang.

Below are verified locations that are reported to be affected today.

RESIDENCES

- Five Stones condominium, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Five positive Covid-19 cases have been reported at this condominium between Jan 12 and Jan 21, according to a notice issued by the management.

Three of the cases involved residents at Block D, while two others at Block A of the condominium.

The notice dated Jan 29, sighted by Malaysiakini, said that four of the patients have already been cleared by the Health Ministry.

When contacted today, the management office said the patients have already undergone their quarantine and had since been released by the ministry.

- Kampung Apar, Bau, Sarawak

At least one individual who tested positive for Covid-19 attended a funeral here, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

They were at the funeral on Jan 24, at 10.30am to 12pm and 7.30pm to 8.30pm, and on Jan 24, at 7.30pm to 8.30pm and 7pm to 9pm.

- Kampung Kranji, Lundu, Sarawak

At least one individual who tested positive for Covid-19 attended a funeral here, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

They were at the funeral on Jan 22, at 9pm to 6am the next day.

- Kampung Serayan Hilir, Lundu, Sarawak

At least one individual who tested positive for Covid-19 attended a funeral here, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

They were at the funeral on Jan 23, at 9am to 2pm and on Jan 24 at 9am to 12pm.

- Pantai Hillpark Condominium (Phase 5), Kuala Lumpur

In separate notices sighted by Malaysiakini, the management body today said a resident at Block 2 and another at Block 8 have tested positive for Covid-19.

The resident at Block 8 - whose test result arrrived on Jan 31 - has already been picked up by an ambulance, and common areas and elevators of the affected blocks have been sanitised.


BUSINESSES 

- MAS Aero Services Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur International Airport

At least 42 staff and 10 vendors of this company tested positive for Covid-19, Malaysia Gazette reported.

The news website also reported that one employee has also died on Jan 30 after contracting the virus at work.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee releases a daily list, comprising locations where Covid-19 patients visited before testing positive for the virus.

EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Bentong, Pahang

The Health Ministry today announced a cluster of cases at an education institution in Bentong.

Ketari assemblyperson Young Syefura Othman confirmed that the institution is MRSM Bentong.

According to Kosmo!, five students and three cafeteria staff tested positive for the virus.

The ministry said 170 people have been screened in this cluster.

This is the third MRSM to have reported cases, after MRSM Lipis in Pahang, and MRSM Sungai Besar in Selangor.

- The International School of Kuala Lumpur, Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur

Six cleaning service workers at the school have been tested positive for Covid-19, according to a notice sent to parents on Feb 1.

The notice, sighted by Malaysiakini, said two companies that manage the workers had since carried out screening on all its workers.

ISKL said due to strict SOPs, they have determined that none of the workers had any contact with students, faculty or staff.

A representative of ISKL told Malaysiakini that the school has also been following strict SOPs to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Following the incident, they have taken necessary measures, including carrying out deep cleaning works according to recommendations from the Health Ministry and Education Ministry.

- Four secondary schools and two kindergartens in Sabah

According to Sabah government spokesperson for Covid-19 Masidi Manjun, the following schools have been instructed to temporarily close starting yesterday after Covid-19 cases were detected at the schools:

  • SMK Sandakan
  • Sandakan Vocational College
  • SM St Cecilia, Sandakan
  • SMKA Tun Juhar, Sandakan
  • Tadika Jati, Taman Harrington, Kota Kinabalu
  • Kinabalu International School, Kota Kinabalu


FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS

- B Braun Medical Industries Sdn Bhd, Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, Penang

The Health Ministry has ordered close the 5th floor of B Braun's 11th factory here starting 3pm yesterday, to curb the spread of Covid-19, China Press reported.


DETENTION FACILITIES

- Pengkalan Chepa Prison, Kelantan

76 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in a cluster traced to this prison.

Cases were detected through screening of new inmates, starting Jan 23, the Health Ministry said.


PLANTATIONS

- Ladang Tangkasaron, Beluran, Sabah

All 16 workers screened to date at this plantation tested positive for Covid-19, the Health Ministry said.
