COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 4,214 new Covid-19 cases amidst a record number of patients (137) requiring ventilators to breathe.
Ventilators are used when a patient cannot breathe on their own because of lung failure.
The Health Ministry reported another 10 deaths attributed to Covid-19. The national death toll stood at 770.

Selangor (1,362 new cases) continued to report more new cases from close contacts than clusters. The opposite was observed in Kuala Lumpur where more than half of the new cases were from three new workplace clusters.
The number of new cases detected among those who reported symptoms but were not linked to clusters or close contacts in Selangor appeared to be on a steady downtrend since Jan 25.
In Johor, half of the 1,068 cases detected there were found through "other screenings", while the others were close contacts or linked to clusters.
In the case of Johor and Kuala Lumpur, it's impossible to discern how many of the cases were detected among those with symptoms but were not linked to clusters or close contacts, which could signal high community spread of Covid-19.

Deaths
There were three deaths reported in Negeri Sembilan. The youngest was 26 years old. The victim also suffered from obesity. Johor, Labuan, Sarawak, Selangor, Perak, Malacca and Terengganu reported one death respectively.
All victims were Malaysians. The average age of the victims was 65.3. Details of the victims are as follows:

The Health Ministry classified 14 new clusters, which included two linked to social events in Sabah - Kampung Samin and Ladang Sungai Pin.
Another three were linked to "at-risk groups" - two care centres and one medical centre.
One construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur - Tapak Bina Jalan Puchong - had a positivity rate of 60 percent.
