Individuals infected with Covid-19 visited the following eateries in Kuching, while in the infectious period, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said yesterday.

A customer who used the customer service counter on Jan 8 at 12.30pm to 12.45pm, tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

Individuals infected with Covid-19 visited the following supermarkets in Sibu, while in the infectious period, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said yesterday.

- Paradigm Mall, Johor Bahru, Johor
The shopping mall management issued a notice today saying that one staff member of its tenant, Smart Tech, tested positive for Covid-19.
It said that the result came back yesterday, and the employee was a close contact of a family member who tested positive earlier.
The said employee last came for duty on Jan 13. Smart Tech has closed its outlet in the mall until further notice and sent all other staff members for screening and quarantine.
- Village Grocer 1 Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
Two employees of Village Grocer from its grocery and security department have been tested positive for Covid-19 today, the company said in a notice.
It said that the staff members last came to work yesterday (Jan 20).
Following the incident, the outlet was closed at noon today to allow all other staff to undergo screening tests and for sanitisation works to be done at the premises. They expect to resume operations tomorrow at 9am.
- Ben's Independent Grocer, The Linc, Kuala Lumpur
A staff member tested positive today, the supermarket said in a notice at its premises today.
The supermarket will be sanitised while all close contacts will be tested and placed in home quarantine immediately.
MARKETS
- Jinjang Utara Morning Market, Kuala Lumpur
Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has closed a part of the market after two traders there tested positive for Covid-19. A group of DAP volunteers disinfected the affected areas at 4pm today.
- Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market, Selayang, Kuala Lumpur
20 cases were detected in a cluster traced to this market, said the Health Ministry today.
This is the second time a cluster was detected at this market since the pandemic hit Malaysia.
- Bandar Riyal Market, Samarahan, Sarawak
A customer who visited on Jan 9 at 3pm to 3.15pm tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.
- Pasar Malam Bintulu, Sarawak
An individual who visited the market on Jan 16 at 7.30pm to 8pm, tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.
SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL CLUBS
- Samarahan Country Club, Sarawak
A customer who visited on Jan 9 at 8.30am to 2pm tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.
RESIDENCES
- Vista Impiana apartment, Seri Kembangan, Selangor
The management today said a resident on the eighth floor of Block B, who has been in quarantine since Jan 18, tested positive for Covid-19.
It assured that cleaners have been disinfecting the lifts and common areas throughout the whole period, and it will engage a cleaning specialist as soon as possible.
- Sri Maya condominium, Jalan Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur
The management said today that a Covid-19 case has been confirmed at Block E. The patient is being quarantined pending ambulance transport, while all common areas in the block would be sanitised beginning 6pm today.
- Setapak Green condominium, Jalan Semarak Api off Jalan Gombak, Kuala Lumpur
A resident on Level 20 tested positive on Jan 16, said the management in a notice to residents today.
Affected areas have been sanitised, while the resident has been in home quarantine since Jan 16 pending the Health Ministry's advice.
- A nursing home for seniors at Jalan Mak Mandin Jaya Dua, Penang
29 cases were detected among staff and residents of an unnamed nursing home for senior citizens at Jalan Mak Mandin Jaya Dua in Butterworth, the Health Ministry said.
- A care home at Jalan Kelapa, Kajang, Selangor
21 cases were detected in a cluster involving a care home at Jalan Kelapa, Kajang, Selangor, the Health Ministry said.
The care home is not named but a check of care homes registered with the Welfare Department found only one registered at Jalan Kelapa.
The Health Ministry said the cluster involves residents and staff of the care home, of which 51 have been screened for Covid-19.
- Taman Sejahtera Utama, Kampar, Perak
35 cases were detected here, linked to a religious event organised by a private body at this residential area, the Health Ministry said.
The index case for the cluster, named Taman Sejahtera, was detected on Jan 21 through screening of a symptomatic individual.
- Taman Kota Muhibbah, Teluk Intan, Perak
A resident here was the index case of the Kota Muhibbah cluster involving 15 people and linked to a public facility in Teluk Intan, the Health Ministry said.
However, the public facility was not identified.
- Semarak Condominiums, Taman Raintree, Batu Caves, Selangor
Another three cases were detected here, the management said in a notice to residents today.
This brings the total number of cases at Taman Raintree to 17.
The latest cases were a family of three residing on Level 19 of the Semarak Condominium block who were close contacts of another resident who tested positive earlier.
They have been in home quarantine since Jan 14, the management said.
- Kampung Tanah Merah, Jerteh, Besut, Terengganu
A resident here is the index case of the Kampung Tanah Merah cluster, which has 15 cases to date, the Health Ministry said.
The cluster was detected on Jan 11 through screening of a symptomatic individual.
- Pine Court, Bintulu, Sarawak
A resident of Block 2 tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.
- Pandan Lake View, Pandan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur
A resident of Block C and a management staff member tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the management said in a notice to residents.
The management said it is waiting for further instructions from the Health Ministry.
- Urbana Residences, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
The management of this condominium in Ara Damansara issued a notice on Jan 18 that two of its residents have been tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the notice sighted by Malaysiakini, the residents live in Block A and Block B, respectively. Both were confirmed positive on Jan 17.
The management said it has carried out immediate disinfection at all common areas.
- Nova Saujana Condominium, Shah Alam, Selangor
Another resident at Block A of this condominium has tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice yesterday.
This is the third case reported at this residential complex, after Jan 7 and 15.
- Damansara Suria Apartment, Kuala Lumpur
Two residents had tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice to residents yesterday.
Both residents are undergoing home quarantine.
All facilities will be closed, and common areas sanitised.
- Savanna Executive Suites, Dengkil, Selangor
A staff member had tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice Wednesday.
A management office will be closed, and all staff tested.
- Kg Pompod, Kota Belud, Sabah
The district health office sent out an alert urging all those who attended a nibau ceremony (paying respects to a deceased's family) on Jan 12 have been urged to come forward for screening today.
OFFICES
- Q Sentral, Jalan Stesen Sentral 2, Kuala Lumpur
The management said today occupants in office units on Levels 17 and 38 have tested positive for Covid-19. They last entered the building on Jan 11 and Jan 12, respectively.
As a precaution, the affected units would be sanitised within 24 hours, and people are advised to avoid accessing the affected levels.
GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS
- KD Sultan Ismail navy base, Tanjung Pengelih, Johor
The Health Ministry said the Seri Bayu cluster refers to a building in a public institution located at Tanjung Pengelih, Pengerang, Johor.
This is believed to be referring to Wisma Sri Bayu, at Kem KD Sultan Ismail, which is the Navy base at Tanjung Pengelih.
The Health Ministry said the Seri Bayu cluster has six cases so far.
- Kuantan Courts Complex, Kuantan, Pahang
Two courtrooms used as the Kuantan magistrate court in this complex are closed for two weeks from after a suspected criminal who is facing a case here was tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 14.
According to Kuantan district police chief Mohamad Noor Yusof, the suspect was brought to the court for a case mention before the result for his second Covid-19 test came back positive.
Following this, the police have informed the court management which then took immediate action to address the matter. It is learned that the two courtrooms were ordered to close temporarily.
FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS
- A factory at Jalan Terolak, off Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur
16 cases were detected in a cluster traced to a factory at Jalan Terolak off Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, said the Health Ministry today.
The factory was not named.
EDUCATION INSTITUTION
- Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Upsi), Tanjong Malim, Perak
According to the Health Ministry, the Jalan Slim cluster of cases involving 26 students and staff is linked to an unnamed public education institute located at Jalan Slim, Tanjong Malim, Perak.
Upsi is the only public education institution located at Jalan Slim.
RECREATIONAL PARKS
- Gunung Raya, Langkawi, Kedah
The index case of this cluster of 11 cases had participated in recreational activities at Gunung Raya.
The cluster was detected on Jan 13 through screening of a symptomatic individual.
PLANTATIONS
- Sebrang Estate, Lahad Datu, Sabah
21 cases were detected here involving palm oil plantation workers at Ladang Sebrang, Lahad Datu, the Health Ministry said.
- Silimpopon Estate, Kalabakan, Sabah
29 workers at this plantation tested positive for Covid-19, the Health Ministry said.
