- Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam, Selangor
The imam of this mosque, Abdul Karim Omar, tested positive for Covid-19.
He is in treatment at Hospital Sungai Buloh and shared his experience through a live interview on Instagram with activist Nur Heliza Helmi yesterday.
OFFICES
- Nanyang Siang Pau Sdn Bhd, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
It was reported that there was one Covid-19 positive case from the Life magazine under Nanyang Siang Pau on Jan 14.
The office building was disinfected and sanitised by DAP's volunteer disinfection special action team.
BUSINESSES
- Mercato, Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur
The Sri Hartamas outlet of premium grocery chain Mercato confirmed that one of its employees had tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.
Mercato said it is now working with the authorities to provide health checks to all team members.
In the interim, the outlet will be closed on Jan 19 and will reopen on Jan 20.
- Ben's Independent Grocer, Publika, Kuala Lumpur
A staff member from the Chill & Frozen section tested positive for Covid-19 today.
The employee was last at the outlet on Jan 15.
The store closed at 4pm for disinfection and to allow all staff members be tested.
The same supermarket reported two staff members from the non-halal section and non-food section tested positive for Covid-19.
- Cold Storage supermarket, Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur
Two employees tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the management said in a notice.
The store is closed for 24 hours starting today for sanitation and necessary contact tracing will be done.
- Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Sibu, Sarawak
The BSN branch in Sibu will be closed until Jan 31 as one staff had tested positive for Covid-19.
All operations, including the automated teller machine (ATM) and cash deposit machines (CDM) at this branch will be halted during the closure.
The sanitisation process will be carried out when the branch is closed.
- Jaya Grocer, The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur
The Jaya Grocer management said four staff from their store at The Gardens Mall tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 18.
All four of them were asymptomatic, and they last reported to work on Jan 17. The patients and close contacts have also been quarantined.
The store has been cleaned and sanitised. It will remain open for business as usual.
- Semenyih Market, Selangor
A man who had visited the market tested positive for Covid-19, DAP volunteer Lee Khai Ming said on Jan 17.
Lee and other DAP volunteers were asked by the local community leaders to help disinfect the man's home and the market, as a precautionary measure.
- Mydin Bukit Jambul, Penang
The hypermarket was closed yesterday for disinfection after a group of employees tested positive for Covid-19, Sin Chew Daily reported.
They had been in isolation for one week after contact with individuals who were infected, it reported.
Sin Chew added that the hypermarket was instructed to close for disinfection by the Health Ministry yesterday afternoon.
- RHB KLCC Branch and Premier Centre, Kuala Lumpur
The branch and Premier Centre is temporarily closed starting today after an employee tested positive for Covid-19, the bank said.
Customers are advised to visit the Plaza OSK branch or use mobile and online banking services instead.
- Digital Mall, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
The mall is closed until Jan 20 after two employees have tested positive on Sunday and yesterday respectively.
The employees work at the Oppo Kiosk on the Ground Floor and the Uneed Phone multibrand phone counter on the First Floor.
The latest case was symptomatic when he sought testing yesterday, the management said.
Professional deep cleaning and sanitation will be done throughout the mall, it said.
GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS
- Seremban Court Complex, Negeri Sembilan
Negeri Sembilan exco S Veerapan said the court complex will be temporarily closed after 16 accused brought there were Covid-19 positive.
The complex will be closed for two weeks to facilitate sanitisation works.
- Kuala Pilah Court Complex, Negeri Sembilan
Negeri Sembilan exco S Veerapan said the court complex will be temporarily closed after a Road Transport Department officer who was present for a case turned out to be Covid-19 positive.
The complex will be closed for two weeks to facilitate sanitisation works.
- Kajang Women's Prison, Kajang, Selangor
A cluster of cases was detected here, the Health Ministry said.
Up to 12pm today, 217 cases were detected in the cluster named Penjara Jalan Sungai Jelok after the road at which the prison is located.
- Inland Revenue Board (IRB) service centre Mersing, Johor
The IRB said in a statement on Jan 17 that its service centre in Mersing will be closed temporarily from Jan 17 to 19 for sanitisation.
The IRB later confirmed with Malaysiakini that the service centre had "come into contact" with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
In the meantime, customers are advised to visit the Kluang branch or any other nearby branches instead.
- Inland Revenue Board (IRB) Bangi branch, Selangor
The IRB said in a statement on Jan 17 that its branch in Bangi will be closed from Jan 18 until further notice, for sanitisation.
When contacted by Malaysiakini, the IRB later confirmed that the branch had "come into contact" with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
In the meantime, customers are advised to visit the Cyberjaya satellite office or the Hulu Langat service centre.
- Inland Revenue Board (IRB) Temerloh branch, Pahang
The IRB said in a statement on Jan 17 that its branch in Temerloh will be closed from Jan 18 until further notice, for sanitisation.
The IRB later confirmed with Malaysiakini that the branch had "come into contact" with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
In the meantime, customers are advised to visit the service centre in Jerantut instead.
RESIDENCES
- Taman Sayong Pinang, Kota Tinggi, Johor
A total of 18 cases were detected in a cluster traced to a family gathering here, the Health Ministry said.
- Sungai Rakut, Jalan Kampung Bakam, Miri, Sarawak
A total of 10 cases were detected in this cluster traced to a wedding held here, the Health Ministry said.
- Jalan Kebor Air, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu
A resident here is the index case of the Kebor Air cluster, which has 18 cases so far, the Health Ministry said.
The cluster involved two public tertiary institutions in Kuala Terengganu, it added.
- Kampung Felda Cempaka Jengka 2, Pahang
A total of 14 cases were found in a cluster traced to a family gathering here, the Health Ministry said.
The cluster is called Rantau Cempaka to indicate it involved an individual travelling from out of state.
The cases were recorded in Hulu Langat, Selangor and Maran, Pahang.
- Sri Damai, Shah Alam, Selangor
In a notice to residents sighted by Malaysiakini, the management said positive Covid-19 cases have been detected in Sri Damai.
Possible contaminated areas will be disinfected and cleaned.
- Prima Sixteen Phase One, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
A resident here tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice to residents.
He had close contact with an infected colleague on Jan 11, immediately quarantined himself the next day upon learning that his colleague tested positive and was last Friday told he was infected, too.
Others who live in the same unit have also been tested, it said.
- OG Heights, Jalan Awan Cina, Kuala Lumpur
A third case was detected here, this time involving a resident of Jade Tower, the management said in a notice to residents dated yesterday.
The resident received his test result yesterday and is in home quarantine, while his housemate's result is pending, the management said.
The second case was at Pearl Tower and announced by management on Jan 5, with the affected resident taken to hospital the day before, after home quarantine of one week.
Sanitation is underway.
- Residensi Sentulmas, Bandar Baru Sentul, Kuala Lumpur
A resident tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the management said in a notice to residents.
Residents are not advised to use common facilities for the time-being.
The common areas and facilities have been sanitised, it said.
- Sunway SPK 3 Harmoni, Bandar Sri Damansara, Kuala Lumpur
A resident tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the management said in a notice to residents.
All common facilities are now closed, it said.
- Damansara Suria, Taman KIP (Kipark Damansara), Kuala Lumpur
A resident of Block D tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday and is under home quarantine with other household members, the management said in a notice to residents.
All common areas will be sanitised, he said.
- Desa Dua, Aman Puri, Kuala Lumpur
A resident tested positive for Covid-19 here yesterday, the management said in a notice to residents.
Affected areas have been sanitised, it said.
- Saville @ Melawati, Desa Melawati, Kuala Lumpur
A resident of Block A tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday, making it the fourth case in this complex this month, the management said in a notice to residents yesterday.
The other cases were reported at Block A on Jan 5 and 8 and Block B on Jan 12, it said.
All common areas have been disinfected, it said.
- Taman Sinaran, Balakong, Selangor
A resident here tested positive for Covid-19.
DAP's volunteers had helped to sanitise the resident's home yesterday.
- Bandar Sunway Semenyih, Semenyih, Selangor
A resident here tested positive for Covid-19.
DAP volunteers had helped to disinfect their home on Jan 17, he said.
- Taman Megah, Cheras, Selangor
A family of four tested positive for Covid-19 in this residential area.
DAP volunteers helped disinfect the family home last Saturday, he said.
They also disinfected the home of the family's relatives, an 80-year-old woman and her daughter, who live next door, he said.
- Prima Setapak Condominium, Kuala Lumpur
A resident of Level 3, Block B tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice to residents.
This is the second case at Prima Setapak this month, the first announced by the management on Jan 11.
All affected common areas have been sanitised.
- Flat Taman Setapak Indah, Kuala Lumpur
The management office is closed until Monday, Jan 25, after a staff member's husband tested positive for Covid-19.
The staff member is undergoing testing.
The announcement, sighted by Malaysiakini, was made to local residents today.
- Villa Wangsamas, Taman Sri Rampai, Kuala Lumpur
Two more cases were reported here yesterday, this time at Level 3A of Tower B and Level 18 of Tower G, the management said in a notice to residents.
Common facilities have been sanitised, it said.
- PV10 Platinum Lake Condominium, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur
The management said in a notice to residents, sighted by Malaysiakini, that a resident from Block B Level 16 had tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 19.
Disinfection will be carried out in all common areas in the condominium.
- Laman Baiduri Condominium, Subang Jaya, Selangor
A third Covid-19 case has been reported in this condominium on Jan 18, said the management in a message to residents, sighted by Malaysiakini.
The third case is a family member of the second case in the condominium. Both are mild cases who have been told to self-quarantine.
- Jalan 14/24, Seksyen 14, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
A resident on this road tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 13 and is now treated in hospital, a relative confirmed.
EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
- Global Indian International School, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur
Two office staff members tested positive for Covid-19, school principal Dinisha Bhardwaj said in a notice to stakeholders today.
The infected staff did not have contact with teachers or students, she said.
The school will be closed for sanitation until further notice and all examinations will be done online, she said.

- Various localities in Kota Tinggi, Johor
National Unity Minister Halimah Mohamed Sadique had visited various localities in Kota Tinggi from Jan 10 to 12 while on a flood relief mission, according to her social media.
She was shown wearing a face mask in most of the pictures of her visits but in some, she was not wearing one.
The Kota Tinggi MP tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 18, said her ministry in a statement today.

FACTORY AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS
- A factory at Jalan Taruka, Tampoi Industrial Area, Johor
A total of 38 cases were found in a cluster involving a factory on Jalan Taruka, the Health Ministry said.
The factory was not named.
