Five members of a family had to sleep in a car when the flood water in their house at Taman Kota Jaya in Kota Tinggi rose up to knee-high last Sunday.

Zaliza Ali, her daughter, two sons and a niece, decided to sleep in her Perodua Alza multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) after failing to get a place at an evacuation centre in the area.
