The Court of Appeal has fixed Jan 6 next year to hear Umno’s appeal to recover RM116.7 million seized by the authorities during the investigation into 1MDB.
However, the legal team for the respondents in the matter is seeking a new hearing date due to a member of the legal team needing to attend a separate court hearing at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on that same date.
The respondents in the matter are Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) deputy director (intelligence/operation) Mohd Sakri Arifin, CCID assistant police commissioner R Rajagopal, Amar Singh Ishar Singh who was the then Bukit Aman JSJK director, the inspector-general of police and the government.
