COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,096 new Covid-19 cases with Selangor making up more than half of them.
It also reported 1,104 recoveries, the second consecutive day where it has exceeded new infections.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a statement, said the spike in Selangor was due to the Teratai cluster.
The Teratai cluster, which involves workers at Top Glove's Meru factory, made up 504 out of the 603 new Covid-19 cases in Selangor.
The latest figures put the cumulative Covid-19 cases at 54,775 against 41,597 recoveries.

Active cases - 12,843 ↓ (11 less than the previous day)
Patients in intensive care - 106 ↓ (Two less than the previous day)
Intubated patients - 46 ↑ (One more than the previous day)
Deaths - 3 (unchanged)
The three new deaths today put the death toll at 335. Details of the latest fatalities are as follow:
Patient 34,953 (Death 333) - 68-year-old Malaysian male. Died at Tawau Hospital, Sabah. Had a history of high blood pressure and stroke.
Patient 41,489 (Death 334) - 90-year-old Malaysian male. Died at Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Sabah. Had a history of stroke, dyslipidemia and heart arrhythmia.
Patient 52,981 (Death 335) - 80-year-old female who is a non-citizen. Died at Hospital Duchess of Kent, Sabah. Had a history of stroke.

No new cases were reported in Sarawak, Pahang and Terengganu today.
Noor Hisham said to date, there have been 330 Covid-19 clusters in the country, 167 of which are still active.
He said this includes three new clusters, namely the Pengkalan Barat cluster in Penang and Perak, Bakti cluster in Negeri Sembilan and Bayam Indah cluster in Kedah.
The Pangkalan Barat cluster involves the Barat Daya district in Penang and the Kerian, Kuala Kangsar and Kinta districts in Perak.
The index case is Patient 42,002 who was discovered during a workplace screening on Nov 11. To date, this cluster has 19 infected patients.
The Bakti cluster involves a prison within the Seremban district of Negeri Sembilan.
It originated from Patient 54,624 whose infection was discovered as part of a process to screen new inmates.
To date, a total of 16 people within the cluster have been tested positive for Covid-19.
The Bayam Indah cluster involves the districts of Kulim and Kuala Muda in Kedah.
It was traced to Patient 53,580 who was confirmed positive yesterday as part of a screening of symptomatic individuals.
A total of ten people within the cluster have been confirmed positive.
