COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,114 new Covid-19 cases, of which 65 were from prison clusters.
This included a surge of cases in Negeri Sembilan, with new infections reaching almost the number of that recorded in Sabah.
There were also 803 recoveries.
Leading indicators, as of today, in brief:
- Active cases = 12,131 ↑ (309 more than the previous day)
- Patients in intensive care = 103↑ (7 more than the previous day)
- Intubated patients = 43↑ (4 more than the previous day)
- Deaths = 2
The two deaths were from Sabah. The cumulative Covid-19 death toll for the Borneo state now stood at 168 or 54.9 percent of the national total (306).
The two deceased were a Malaysian woman and man, aged 78 and 51 respectively.
The Cergas cluster recorded the biggest spike - with 364 cases detected (363 in Negeri Sembilan, 1 in Selangor), bringing the total for the cluster to 1,118.
Of the 1,114 new cases, only two were imported. A breakdown of the cases are as follows:

In a press statement. Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced four new clusters.
The Istimewa cluster involves the Sandakan district in Sabah. The index case tested positive on Oct 20 and contact tracing has since found 15 more cases.
The Alila cluster involves the Kota Kinabalu district in Sabah. The index case tested positive on Oct 5. There are now 23 cases in the cluster.
The Assumption cluster involves the districts of Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang, as well as Kulim, Kedah. The index case tested positive on Nov 11. There are 10 positive cases to date.
The Rajawali cluster involves the Timur Laut and Barat Daya districts in Penang. The index case tested positive on Nov 6. There are 10 positive cases to date.
Noor Hisham also announced the end of the Bah Lunas and Bah Bemban clusters which had five and 12 positive cases respectively.
