UPDATED 11PM | List of locations affected by Covid-19 (Oct 22)

  • Latest places added: Sekolah Agama Rakyat An-Nur, BSN Sungai Dua, Petronas Floating Liquified Natural Gas facility, Tejani Medical Clinic, Kampung Tinusa 2.

Below are verified locations that are reported to be affected today.

GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS 

- PKNS Complex, Bangi, Selangor

A staff member of Restoran Cempaka Rimba at the PKNS Complex in Bangi tested positive on Oct 19.

The restaurant was closed and the building was sanitised last night, state media Selangorkini reported.


OFFICES

- MK Land, Petaling Jaya, Selangor  

Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson Elizabeth Wong confirmed that there's a Covid-19 case at MK Land office located in her constituency.

She told Malaysiakini that the news was relayed to her by the local councillor and necessary action has been taken.

However, no specific details regarding the case were furnished. 

- Menara TH, 1-Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

An employee here tested positive, according to building management in a notice yesterday.

Management is arranging for "deep sanitisation" at "high-risk" areas of the building.


RESIDENCES

- Lake Front Residence, Cyberjaya, Selangor

A Tower 3 occupant tested positive today, after observing self-quarantine since Oct 12. Malaysiakini earlier reported another resident had tested positive on Oct 18.

- De Bayu Apartment, Setia Alam, Selangor

The management of De Bayu apartment confirmed with Malaysiakini that a resident had tested positive for Covid-19 on Oct 19.

In an internal circular to residents, it urged them to minimise outdoor activities and to limit the number of visitors during this period.

- Pelangi Damansara Flats, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Sinar Harian reported yesterday that 23 positive cases were reported at the flats. Over 700 residents were also screened by the Petaling district health office.

- Taman Antoi, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur

The Antoi Kepong residents association said six residents contracted Covid-19 yesterday. The total now is seven positive cases.

In a statement, the association advised residents to avoid Jalan Antoi Kanan 4, Jalan Antoi 3, and Padang Antoi. They closed the junction between Jalan Antoi 5 and Jalan Antoi Kanan 4.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng confirmed with Malaysiakini the positive cases in the area.

- Puri Aiyu Condominium, Section 22, Shah Alam, Selangor

The condo management confirmed with Malaysiakini there were two Covid-19 cases reported on Oct 20.

They were caused by a resident having contact with an infected person in Block B.

- Savanna Executive Suites, Southville City, Dengkil, Selangor

A resident of Block B2 has tested positive while this family is undergoing swab tests, the management said in a notice today.

- Kampung Tinusa 2, Sandakan, Sabah

Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister Masidi Manjun told a press conference today that a new cluster with 33 cases has been detected at the village, dubbed the Tinusa cluster.


BUSINESSES

- Pasar Besar Kota Belud, Sabah

The Kota Belud District Health Office has sent out an alert urging all those who visited the market between Oct 1 and 15 to get checked.

The district health office can be contacted at 088 976 388.

- Sogo Department Store, Central I-City, Shah Alam, Selangor

An employee of Sogo Department Store at this mall tested positive yesterday, the mall said.

The employee has not reported to work since Oct 16. 

The department store closed last night for disinfection and has reopened today following advice from the Health Ministry.

- Bank Simpanan Nasional, Sungai Dua, Penang

Bernama reported that five staff members at the bank branch had to be screened for Covid-19 after a customer from an old folks’ home in Pongsi Seribu visited the bank on Oct 13 and tested positive for Covid-19 on Oct 15.

- Petronas Floating Liquified Natural Gas facility, Sabah

Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister Masidi Manjun told a press conference today that a new cluster with 31 has detected at the floating natural gas extraction and production facility. He said the cluster is isolated from the community at large and all those involved have been safely evacuated.

However, he did not specify which of the two PFLNG facilities had been affected. Earlier media reports state PFLNG-Satu was relocated to the Kebabangan cluster field 90km northwest of Kota Kinabalu last year, while PFLNG-Dua is due to begin commercial operations in November this year at the Rotan gas field 140km offshore from Kota Kinabalu.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- SK Pekan 1, Labuan

More than 300 students and teachers were screened for Covid-19 today, after a student tested positive for the virus several days ago, Bernama reported. 

- SMK Dato' Undang Haji Adnan, Kampung Kota, Negeri Sembilan

The school management confirmed with Malaysiakini that the school has been closed from today until Oct 29 after a student was found to have contracted Covid-19 yesterday.

All students staying at the hostel were asked to go home except for those who would have to cross states or living in red zones. 

- SK Klian Pauh, Taiping, Perak

A Covid-19 case was detected at the school, the Perak Education Department said.

The school is closed starting Oct 22 and will reopen on Oct 30.

- St Joseph's Institution International School, Tropicana Indah, Selangor

A teaching intern tested positive, the school said in a notice to parents.

The intern started work on Oct 12 and was last at work on Oct 13, when schools in the district were closed to comply with the CMCO.

She observed self-quarantine starting Oct 14 when she felt unwell.

She informed the school she had close contact with an infected person on Oct 18, after she was informed of that by contact tracers.

- Sekolah Tinggi As-Sofa, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan

The residential school will close for two weeks from today after several students tested positive for Covid-19. The cases were detected after a student complained of feeling unwell on Oct 19. 

The school's coordinating chairperson Abdullah Abdol Razak, in a statement, said that a total of 33 students have tested positive.

Seremban police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim had earlier dismissed a purported internal police notice which circulated on social media stating that 33 students here tested positive for Covid-19.

- Sekolah Agama Rakyat An-Nur, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan

Bernama reported that the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department has ordered the school to close after a school employee is found to have been in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.

The report does not mention whether a confirmed case has also been detected at the school.


MEDICAL FACILITIES

- Tejani Medical Clinic, Tanjung Bungah, Penang

Bernama reported that a Covid-19 patient visited the clinic today, which is now closed for disinfection. The clinic said it expects to reopen tomorrow; all staff are undergoing screening and those in close contact with the patient will undergo quarantine.

However, it said all patients who visited the clinic in the past two weeks are not required to go for screening unless told otherwise by the Health Ministry.
